Sevalaya Samaritan Hospital to offer free medical services from today (Gandhi Jayanthi)

Each year, Father of the Nation’s birthday Gandhi Jayanthi, the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi is celebrated across all Sevalaya centres.

Gandhiji’s 152nd birth anniversary was celebrated at Sevalaya’s new branch, Samaritan Hospital in Gudalur on 2nd October 2021.

J Saravana Kannan, Revenue Division Officer, Gudalur, Liahad Ali, DMK, Union Secretary, Gudalur, R Krishna Pratap, Chairman, Merchants Welfare Association, Gudalur, were the special Guests on the occasion. A project, sponsored by Gudalur Merchants Association, to distribute 1000 blankets to the tribal people was launched. 500 blankets were issued in the first phase at Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations.

Sevalaya Samaritan declared that the Samaritan Hospital which provided free medical services only for the tribals would henceforth provide free services to everyone.

Speaking on the occasion, the special guest said that the services of NGOs like Sevalaya are much needed in hilly places like Gudalur. He also appealed to Sevalaya Samaritan to provide free education for the tribals and assured support for all future endeavours of the organization for the benefit of the poor tribals.

Earlier, Sumathi Selvakumar, Tailoring Instructor, Sevalaya Samaritan, Gudalur, welcomed the gathering. Priyadharshini S R, Centre Head, Sevalaya Samaritan Gudalur proposed a vote of thanks. The function came to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
